Trout Fishing Vacation

The trout streams are overflowing from a huge rainfall, so yes, I took a day of vacation today with no Trout University business, not even reading the mail.  The reason that I gave up trout fiahing is that I got to spend the day with our youngest grand child, Emma Mae.  She is four years old and the only time that I can sit down is while she is asleep which is only about one hour each day.

At Troutu, we continue to add infomation and that has resulted in the need to improve the navigation in the site.  Therefore, we are again making significant changes to the website, to provide the best overall experience and most efficient navigation.  For example, our Classes now total 21, ranging from getting started trout fishing to advanced techniques on the stream.  We have moved the classes from the side bar to the menu bar across the top of the page.  We will be making additional changes as we progress to enhance the overall experience.  Please feel free to contact us when you have s

When the water is high...slow down

Flood waters can be dangerous, but productive if you hit them at the right time. The first order of business when fishing more extreme conditions like this is one of safety. Water is powerful and it deserves your respect...be careful.I recently went trout fishing on a small mountain stream after several days of heavy rain. The stream was up to say the least. It must have been 2 feet higher than normal...which isn't uncommon to see in the NC mountains.
