One of Pennsylvania's best trout streams, Spring Creek, offers great fishing for wild brown trout. Though the stream flows through a well populated area, Spring Creek boasts the highest density brown trout population in the state and is one of the favorite destinations for trout fishing in the Northeast.
Once very polluted, Spring Creek now runs clean, thanks to the work of many organizations. Additionally, the limestone in the creek raises its pH and supports an impressive forage base for the trout, including crustaceans, sculpins, bait fish, and aquatic insects. A typical Spring Creek brown trout may run in the 10 -14 inch range; however, the stream supports a number of 20+ inchers.
