Sportsmen are looking forward to this weekend’s commemoration of hunters and fishers everywhere. This Saturday, September 22 is National Hunting and Fishing Day (NHF). What a great way to enjoy the outdoors than to participate in this event.
The special day was enacted by President Nixon in 1972 and was created to raise awareness of the contributions made by many hunters and fishermen. The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) has been involved in this effort since day one. The home of National Hunting and Fishing Day is the Wonders of Wildlife museum located in Springfield Mo. The mission of the museum is to help the general public to understand the relationship between sportsmen and the preservation of the habitats that support their sports.
The honorary chairperson selected for this year is NASCAR Sprint Cup driver/owner Tony Stewart who will deliver the message of NHF Day. As you may know Tony in car number 14 Office Depot/Mobil 1 has been racing for over thirty years and won over 12 driving championships. MORE
