There is a new recently opened Catch and Release section of the Ravens Fork River in the Cherokee Indian Reservation in Cherokee NC. The new Catch and Release section will be fly fishing only, catch and release.

We at Trout University are always searching for the very best products to make available on TROUTU In search of the perfect flies, on Wednesday Sept 30, Trout University traveled to Pigeon Forge Tennessee to visit the world famous fly fisherman James Marsh. James, along with his wife Angie, travel all over the USA, often spending 300 days a year on the streams creating DVD’s for teaching fly fishing.
1. Get a good hatch chart. You will need a hatch chart specific to the stream/area you want to fish. Most hatch charts are not specific enough to the local area, nor are they made from the proper stream samplings of the insects in the stream. They are generic and thoughtlessly created. Don’t use them. Currently, we only know of one place to find good hatch charts.
After laboring for many hours on the Trout University web site trying to bring the best all around trout fishing information to you, I have taken a much needed vacation and I promised myself that I would ignore trout for the entire week. Here is a picture of me completely relaxed and enjoying the cooler weather.
