Today, I was pleased to find Bestway Outdoor Supreme Hair available at the amazing new Cabelas store located just outside of Charlotte, NC and just inside the South Carolina border. After a major tour of the entire store where I took many photos, I entered the Fly Shop where I was not surprised to find the Supreme Hair. Our line of perfect flies are exact imitations of the actual aquatic insects, terrestrials and bait fish. Many fly shops however, classify their flies as dry flies and nymphs only. At Troutprostore, we are far more exact in creating imitations of insects. We stock the insects in their actual stages of life, for example caddisflies are not just adults or nymphs; but in fact, they are adults, larvae and pupae. Larvae and pupa are nymphs, and conversely, not all nymphs are either larvae or pupae.
The Blue Quill sometimes known as the Mahogany Dun or Little Blue Quill is one of the first hatches of the year along with the Quill Gordons and the Blue Winged Olives. The hatch occurs slightly ahead of the larger Quill Gordon and continues over a longer period than does the Quill Gordon, making it just as important as the Quill Gordon hatch.
Each year 80 streams and small lakes located in mid to western Tennessee are stocked to provide a trout fishery. Due to the warm summer water or due to habitat that does not support trout preproduction, these streams have low abundance of wild trout, or no trout at all. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) stocks about 325,000 9-12 inch trout between February and October. While trout fishing is allowed year-round on most of these streams, many of these waters are too warm for trout by mid summer.
The second annual Southern Trout Fly Fishing Fair will be held at the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee again this year. The Southern Trout Fly Fishing Fair will be held on Saturday the 31st of January 2015 which is the last day of the 25th Annual Wilderness Wildlife Week that runs from Saturday the 24 thru Saturday the 31st of January.
What I remember most about winter fishing is slogging through snow well over ankle deep on occasions and on other occasions the guides on my rod were frozen over, so I tell myself that I am too old for winter fishing. Since I have tried winter fishing and found it not to my liking I spend the long winter days sitting by the fireplace dreaming.
