The South Holston and Watauga Tailwaters are fishing good, they are in the transition from summer to winter style of fishing. With the time between sunset and sunrise longer, the cooler nightime temperatures are bring out the early cool season hatches. We are still seeing some sulphurs and cranflies but a size 22 BWO emerger is doing the best.

Also, start thinking about scheduling your trip for going after those trophy browns that the South Holston and Watauga are known for. The months of late November, December, January and February are when we go after these great trophy fish. We have been working on several new techniques and flies for chasing these guys. Keep and eye on the Fishing Blog at Randy Ratliff's TGS website for updates on these new tips and tactics. Randy Ratliff's TGS Blog
