Trout Fishing for Boomers

Wed, 03/18/2009 - 09:21 -- jmaslar

C'mon you baby boomers retired or about to retire! Get up off that couch and take up a wholesome, outdoor, sport like trout fishing. When IBM did a study about their retired employees, they found that the average person only collected 18 monthly checks after retirement; and it was due to inactivity.  I had always thought that when I retired, I would seriously take golf lessons.  However, now that I am fully retired, I am happy that I chose trout fishing.

Trout Fishing in New Jersey

A fisherman contacted our web site http://www.troutprostore.com/ requesting information about trout fishing in New Jersey and pennsylvania.  I have some friends who have fished the Pennsylvania waters and just one friend who had fished the New Jersey waters near the Deleware Water Gap.  Of course, I have emailed them for more individual information and I am waiting for a reply.  In the meantime, I have discovered that a lot of factors have combined to make New Jersey a great trout fishing success story.  Many of the streams that course down and th

Mon, 03/09/2009 - 22:05 -- smaslar

A few weeks ago in late February, troutu student Matthew and I went on an exploratory trout fishing trip on the Horsepasture River in North Carolina.  While the Horsepasture River boasts the North Carolina state record rainbow trout, caught in a private section of the river, we fished the portion on public land just above Lake Jocassee near Gorges State Park.  We only saw two trout, but Matthew caught one of them -- shown on the video: a nice, fat 17" rainbow.  Also, we saw a number of impressive waterfalls.
