Recently I received a package of dark purple saltwater nylon fly tying material from Jerry at Bestway Outdoor.I use this material to tie flies for deepwater cod and pollock fishing off the coast of Maine. This material in dark purple is far and away the most productive I have used to date and that includes bucktail and dozens of other synthetics. It is also very durable and you will lose your fly to dropper loop breakoffs long before the fly wears out. Again try the nylon in dark purple and you will not be dissapointed.
Recent update: Jerry an 18lb pollock caught on purple. We were fishing a 24 oz bank sinker with 3 flies tied 18" apart. The blue sharks are killing us and sinkers are cheaper than a jig. However, we are still lose about 50 flies a week due to the sharks.
