March has arrived here in Montana and the booking season is in full swing. I am sitting here writing this March newsletter and it is snowing again today. The snow continues to pile up in the high country and we will be looking at another great water year.
If you have never had a chance to experience Montana in the early season it can be some of the best fishing of the season. Skawla stones and caddis make up the majority of our dry fly fishing and on any given day we also see a great hatch of BWO's. If you are looking for that fish of a lifetime then spending the day throwing streamers might be the way to go. This early time frame is great for solitude on the rivers before the main rush of fishermen show up for the summer season.
