The first and only Fly Fishing Trail in the United States is located in Jackson County in the Western portion of North Carolina. This unique Fly Fishing Trail  features 15 streams for catching brook, brown and rainbow trout all located in the picturesque Great Smoky Mountains. Each trail description includes notes about the stretch of water, the access points, the type of water and the species of trout that habitat the stream. Whether you seek quantity or size, wild or stocked, open waters or small streams, the Fly Fishing Trail has it all.

The trail map will guide you to the 15 excellent spots with some accessible with very little walking from the road while others require some vigorous hiking. GPS coordinates are available for each stream as well.

In addition to the map and the GPS coordinates, their web site includes where to stay, trail news, and a picture gallery for the streams. You can even upload your photos to add to the collections that are already available for the streams listed.

Their only caveat is that you remember the trail pledge: "As a true sportsman, I pledge to never litter and to avoid trespassing on private lands. I will respect the rights of property owners, and always leave the streams in better condition than I found them."
