Perfect Fly Brown Drake Spinner:

The spinner falls occur during the night and provide great action if you prefer night trout fishing, but on occasion they may be effective in the early morning, which I prefer due to the night time safety concerns. The spinners can be found in the eddies, and tail end of pools as well as in the riffles or pools behind large rocks. On occasion, they can be found at the head of pools especially if there are runs or riffles between the pools. The problem is that It may be difficult to determine exactly when the spinners are falling since it will be under low light conditions.

 Presentation:

As already discussed a down and across presentation in the slow moving waters will be the most effective. Also, again as previously discussed, take advantage of any available light and minimize your movements. If the water is dangerous and the light poor, it may be advisable to fish from the safety of the banks, but be aware of overhanging branches, etc,

When fishing with the Perfect Fly spinner in the early rays of light in the morning, fish in an upstream direction casting in the same areas of slow moving waters. The browns are not easily seen since they just sip them in with very little disturbance. Therefore, cast to the areas where the spinners have collected.
