If you are accustomed to the feel of a slow flexing rod, the "Perfect Fly" fly rod will feel very light to you and perhaps a little stiff when you first pick it up. However, that feeling will not last long. Once you have casted it a few times it will begin to feel great.
Like wise, if you've been accustomed to a medium or medium fast action fly rod, you may not notice a difference in flex. However, it will feel lighter due to the very high graphite modulus and its overall light comfortable weight.
None of our fly rods are "stiff" fast action rods that feels like sticks. They flex well but mostly in the upper portion of the rod which gives the rods their incredible line speed, tight loops and accuracy. You will discover that you need not force the rod to do anything, but you can let the rod work for you.
To make very short up close casts, simply shorten the stroke. and it will be easy to cast. We are certain that you will agree, it makes roll, reach and curve casts as well or better than any rod you have experienced.
