The annual Troutfest Great Smoky Mountains fly Fishing Exposition was held in Townsend, Tennessee this past weekend and I had the priviledge of attending. My thanks to the Little River Chapter of Trout Unlimited, Byron Begley and the many other volunteers who made the show such a success. The TU volunteers were completely organized and made setting up an easy task. The proceeds from the event will go to the Great Smoky Mountains Fisheries Department.
My good friend, James Marsh has a series of trout fishing DVDs and he has developed a line of Perfect Flies that are the exact duplicates of the real insects so I was pleased when he asked me to help with the Perfect Fly booth at the TroutFest. I already knew that the event would be first class, but I did not expect it to be so well attended.
We had a most enjoyable day and met a lot of nice folks including David Knapp of the Troutzone blog, Alex Roche of Cades Cove Tours and Steve Mingle of Rivers Edge Outfitters, just to name a few.
