Trout Fishing During the Christmas Season

LakePowhatan is an often overlooked recreational area that can be a great place to take kids fishing.  It is just to the west of AshvilleNC and can be fished by Dad and the kids while Mom is shopping in Ashville. Of course a trip to enjoy Christmas at the Biltmore House can make the trip special at this time of year.  We usually do not think about fishing for trout in a small lake near a city, since we prefer to fish for trout in streams,  but this lake could be a hidden gem.

Lake Powhatan is a small lake covering only about 7 acres but it is stocked with over 3500 trout each year, so give it a try and enjoy the Biltmore House.
