Hey anglers, the winters in the Yellowstone National Park provide plenty of opportunities for the family to enjoy winter activities. Enjoying the views of the great diverse wildlife in the Northern Range is a lot of fun when you take the Ranger Led program “Yellowstone Wildlife in the Winter”. This enjoyable program runs from December 24 to February 15.
With just a little more effort you can enjoy Yellowstone winters by snowcoach. Round-trip snowcoach transportation is available daily from Mammoth, the South and North entrances to Yellowstone, and Old Faithful Snow Lodge which can be reserved through the reservation office toll-free 866-439-7375.

During inclement weather, there will be overcrowding at the warming huts, restrooms and restaurants due to the limited winter facilities.
Still have energy, then why not try cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Yellowstone has miles of trails for the adventurous skier and snowshoer. Whether you are skiing a groomed trail in a developed area or venturing into the backcountry, remember that you are traveling in wilderness with all its dangers: unpredictable wildlife, and changing weather conditions. However, for safety, be prepared for any situation and know the limits of your ability. Other activities include horseback riding, sleigh rides and dog sleding.
