The Mack Wedding Ring Trout Lure

We at TroutU have recently received an anonymous comment on our “Top 5 Trout Artificial Lures” page found under the “Top 5 Tips” tab on the home page.  The comment suggested that “The Mack Wedding Ring” lure was indeed an effective trout lure and implied that it was even more effective than the Super Duper.

Since I have never heard of the Macks Wedding Ring and even thought it might be a hoax, I immediately went to the Mackslure website for the details.

Here is what I found:
"If your father or grandfather ever went fishing in the great Northwest, chances are he fished with a Wedding Ring® spinner, a favorite for over 35 years. The original Wedding Ring® spinner is hand-tied on monofilament line giving it greater action in the water than lures made with wire. The highest quality rhinestone diamond creates a brilliant reflection that captivates kokanee, trout, perch, walleye, and many other game fish."

Recently I learned that the South Carolina record brook trout was caught on a super Duper so I would welcome your thoughts on the subject. Please send us your experiences by using the comments section of our Troutu website. I would appreciate having a good discussion on the subject.

By the way, please check back often and we will post an update to the record brook trout story.
